RULES

Partnerships for Children, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is looking for talented artists to participate in our peer-to-peer fundraising competition, “KING Sings for Dream”, which will utilize their talents to raise awareness for KING music mentoring and raise funds for the program.

1. ELIGIBILITY
  • Must 18 years of age or older

  • All submitted songs must include both lyrics and music.

  • All submitted songs must be original. Contestants must confirm they own 100% of the rights to the lyrics and music. (AI may be used to enhance creativity but not generate the song entirely).

  • Only 1 submission per artist/group.

  • Must NOT be an active KING Mentee

  • PFC employees and their families are not eligible to enter.

  • Must be able to perform live and in person on December 4th @ Antone’s in Austin, TX.  Transportation will not be provided.

  • Submissions must be “family friendly” and will be reviewed for appropriate content.

2. SUBMISSION POLICY

Each entry must be an original, unpublished musical composition (“composition”) for which the contestant retains the copyright and authority to submit and perform the composition in the contest. No payment is necessary for submission. Partnerships for Children is not responsible and disclaims any liability for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, postage due, stolen, or misappropriated entries or for any errors in online submissions, including, but not limited to unsuccessful file uploads.

3. RESTRICTIONS

This contest is void where prohibited. All federal, state, and local laws, regulations, rules, and ordinances apply.

Submissions are not subject to a time limit. But if you are selected as our winner, your live performance must meet a strict six (5) minute limit. The song MUST be performed by the song contest entrant. Songs that have been recorded with more than one backing musician can be submitted, but remember, should you advance and perform live, you will only be allowed one backing musician on stage. This accompanist may play an instrument(s) and/or sing backup.

Co-written songs may be submitted, but the person who enters the song must be the one who is the lead singer of the tune. Entrants maintain full ownership of their material and that no ownership rights are compromised by entering the competition. Entrants grant the contest organizers the right to publicize their names and likenesses.

4. RELEASE OF LIABILITY

By entering the Contest, Entrants agrees to release and hold harmless Partnerships for Children and the Released Parties from all claims, liability or damage caused or claimed to be caused, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, in connection with participation in this Contest, or acceptance or use of any award, the administration of the Contest, the operation of any website or Partnerships for Children and Released Parties' use of any of the rights granted herein (including any claims arising out of the use of third party content that may be embodied in a Submission). Released Parties assume no responsibility for the conduct of any Songwriter or the responses of anyone appearing in any Submission.
