I’m Rachel, but onstage I’m Redneck Kitty—a multi-faceted artist and entertainer based in Austin. I bring joy, silliness, and big-energy confidence to every performance. I’m a DJ, music producer, vocalist, instrumentalist, and writer, currently studying music production at Austin Community College. My instruments include my voice, the Ableton Push, Ableton Live, and my MIDI synth.
I grew up in the sticks of Florida listening to Missy Elliott, Eminem, Britney Spears, Shania Twain, and Alan Jackson... to name a few. When I later discovered electronic music, I fell in love instantly. My sound mixes my Southern roots with the dance world: dirty tech house, chunky basslines, playful vocals, and a splash of weird designed to make people feel unapologetically themselves.
I’m inspired by humor, storytelling, and the kind of confidence that gives people permission to be free. I see myself as a stand-up comic who communicates through music—channeling attitude, truth, and character into the beat. My goal is to create an immersive world where people can laugh, dance, and let go.
I was introduced to KING by one of my professors at ACC, and once I looked into it, it immediately resonated with me. After speaking with Dave about potentially becoming a mentor in the future, I became even more excited about what KING is building.
Music has shaped me in profound ways, and knowing there’s a space dedicated to giving underprivileged kids the chance to discover their voice, their purpose, and their talent means so much to me. I simply love kids and believe they are the key to shaping the future.
Winning this competition would be incredible, but what truly motivates me is contributing to something that raises money and awareness so KING can continue to grow and reach more young artists. I’m supporting KING because I believe deeply in the power of music and in the mission of creating opportunities for the next generation of creators. It changes lives — and those lives create a ripple effect that changes the world.
